GD 135 ~ Cai Yun

Dear Doyan Early Act Team,

Hey! How are you? I hope you are doing just great with your lives. I'm Cai Yun, a 16 year old girl, who is very lucky to be sponsored by you. Thank you for all your timely and generous help because, without it, I would have already dropped out by now.

I grew up in a poor family. As far as I can recall, many of my childhood memories were sad. People usually looked down upon us because we were so poor. So, I told myself to be hardworking and tough because I knew that was the only way I could go to my dream college, find a decent job, help to support my family and relieve their financial burdens.

After graduating from my junior high school, I faced a great challenge ahead. I had neither the money nor my legal identity to go on with my schooling. (The Chinese government has a family planning policy which imposes fines on those families who have more than one or two children. So, my parents kept me unregistered after my birth to escape the fines.) This made me very sad. I spent many days crying, looking for solutions and help. That was when I learned about this scholarship program and now my life has changed. Now, with your help, I have my ID card and I have been able to resume my education.

Thanks again. And I promise that I will work even harder on my studies, not only for myself, but also for you and for all those who love me.

Wish you all the best and happy New Year!

Yours ,

Sincerely,

Cai Yun
